Precious Metal Clay
(PMC)
4 weeks
(November 7, 14, 21,& Dec. 5th.)
PMC is a clay like material
made of 99.9% pure silver and an organic binder. It works
like clay, but is fired
into metal! It’s so simple to work with that anyone
can create beautiful jewelry or other silver works of art.
At the same time, the material allows expression, detail
and complexity that is hard to achieve with traditional
silversmithing processes. Students have access to our fully-equipped
metals studio, with polishers, tumblers, torches etc. Basic
tool kits included. Join us on (4) Friday evenings for an introduction to Metal Clay jewelry. We’ll make silver pendants, earrings and charms. Great for first timers interested in basic metal clay techniques, with plenty of “how to do”, “don’t do”, and “hey, I can do” procedures. 4-3 hour sessions, over 4 weeks. Material fee includes 30 grams of silver clay and finishing materials.
$155. per session + $55 materials fee
