Don Pilcher/Georgette
Ore
Pilcher is thought by many to be a seminal figure
in American, post-modernist pottery. His influences as a teacher
and artist are felt throughout
the contemporary ceramics scene. This new work, created as "Rascal
Ware" by Georgette Ore, and complete with a biographical narrative
of Ms. Ore, is a distinct break from the earlier works associated with
Don Pilcher. Don't be fooled by the playfulness of the Georgette -
Pilcher "association", this is serious work. Always known for his consideration
of detail, impeccable surfaces, and originality, Pilcher takes those
concerns to a new level, with his current work. Those close to Don
will tell you that he is "on fire" with ideas and having more fun in
the studio than he's had for a long, long time. |
